Hello all

I am a young dude in my early 20s and I currently have a spiky hair style with a bit more length on top and short back and sides (a bit like David Tennant, but much shorter to the sides: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_A9GFtJqtgK4/S7m9IFzBtDI/AAAAAAAAANg/P_WXTaAg2fU/s1600/David+Tennant+-+Dr+Who.jpg). The problem with this hair style is I need to cut it far too often as it looks weird as it grows out.

So I've got a short hair style and wish to grow it out but I'd rather it didn't look as though I was desperately in need of a hair cut as it grows. Does anyone know of any hair styles that are "grow safe"? A hair cut that doesn't need cutting very often but still looks good as it grows?

I have fairly thick and very straight hair.
